Section 685
Liability for defective product:

(1) No one shall sell, distribute or cause any goods or services to be produced or sold with defects.
(2) If a person sells or distributes a defective product as per sub-section (1) and consumes such a product, if there is loss or damage to someone's life, life or property, the producer shall bear the liability according to this paragraph.
(3) "Defective product" means any product or service that does not meet the minimum safety measures that a reasonable person would reasonably expect when using a product for any of the following reasons:-
(a) Defective design, manufacture, processing or assembly,
(b) Improper packing, preservation or storage,
(c) Misrepresentation,
(d) Lack of adequate measures or prior precautions to control potential risks or hazards according to the nature of the goods or services produced.
(4) "Manufacturer" shall mean a manufacturer who manufactures and distributes defective goods or services in the final form and the term shall also include the following persons:-
(a) a distributor or seller who sells and distributes defective goods where the manufacturer has not been identified,
(b) In the case of imported goods, the importer who imports defective goods or the distributor or seller who sells and distributes such goods.
(5) "Goods" means any industrial product for consumption by the general public.
